Carlos Guerreiro, President and Director of Forestry
A forester with nearly 30 years of experience in silvicultural planning, harvesting and forest management, Carlos is TTG Brasil's President and Director of Forestry. Carlos has responsibility for managing all operations and investment properties in Latin America. Carlos spent 13 years as a forest manager for Champion International, was head of operations for Ripasa Celulose e Papel, and also served as Chief Forester for Precious Woods and GMO’s Brazilian operations. In 1997, Carlos led the first successful effort to secure Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) certification of a sustainably managed tropical rainforest on behalf of Precious Woods’ Brazilian operations. Carlos served as president of the Association of FSC Forestry Producers of the Amazon (PFCA) and as a member of the FSC Board of Brazil. Carlos received his B.S. in Forestry from ESALQ at the University of São Paulo, Brazil.
Alberto Barbosa, Regional Forest Manager, Minas Gerais
A forester with more than 30 years experience in the successful establishment and management of forest plantations in Brazil and Venezuela. Alberto is responsible for TTG’s field operations and environmental licensing in Minas Gerais, Brazil. Before joining TTG, Alberto spent 12 years with Champion International, Votarantim Paper and Cellulose, and San Carlos Forestry Development, where he was responsible for all aspects of the establishment and management of Eucalyptus nurseries and tens of thousands of hectares of pulp-cellulose plantations. Alberto also spent 5 years as an Environmental Analyst and Regional Director for the State Forestry Institute in Minas Gerais. Alberto received his B.S. and M.Sc. in Forestry from the Federal University of Viçosa in Minas Gerais, Brazil.
Marcelo Temps, Planning Manager
A forester with more than 10 years of experience in forest planning and forest management, Marcelo is responsible for silvicultural planning, monitoring and evaluation of field operations, inventory management, and technical reporting. Prior to joining TTG, Marcelo served as the Forest Planning Coordinator for Stora Enso (Latin America Division), where he also assisted with that companies expansion in to China, and as a Senior Forester at Jari Celulose SA and Klabin SA. Marcelo received his B.S. in forestry and his Master of Forest Management from the Universidade Federal do Paraná, Brazil.
Joabel Barbieri, Manager of Information Systems
A forester with five years of forest planning, GIS and Information Systems experience, Joabel is responsible for TTG's information systems, including the company's geographic information systems management (GIS) and forest information systems. Joabel previously served as GIS Analyst and Forest Planning Supervisor for Stora Enso's Latin American Division, where he was responsible for implementation of the SGF forest information system. Joabel is ESRI-certified GIS Analyst (ArcGIS). Joabel received his B.S. in Forestry from Santa Maria Federal University in Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil and completed his M.B.A in Administration and Finances in 2011.
Nairam Felix de Barros Filho, Forest Manager, Minas Gerais
A forester with seven years of experience in nursery management, soils and forest nutrition, Nairam is responsible for all aspects of property administration on behalf of TTG clients in the Turmalina region of Minas Gerais State. Prior to joining TTG, Nairam served for six years as manager of research and clonal seedling production at Plantar S.A., Brazil's largest forestry contractor. Nairam received his B.S. in Forestry from the Federal University of Viçosa, and his M.S. in Silviculture from Santa Maria Federal University. He is currently completing his doctorate in soils and forest nutrition at Federal University of Viçosa, (expected December 2011).
Rodrigo Novais, Forest Manager, Minas Gerais
A forester with five years of experience in forest regulation, licensing, environmental auditing, and environmental monitoring, Rodrigo administers properties on behalf of TTG clients in Minas Gerais, Brazil, with particular responsibility for environmental licensing and compliance. Before joining TTG, Rodrigo served for five years as a manager with the Minas Gerais State Forestry Institute (IEF). Rodrigo received his B.S. in Forestry from the Federal University of Viçosa, in Minas Gerais.
Yughues Val Stadler Bonfim, Forest Manager, Minas Gerais
A forester with six years of forest operations and consulting experience, Yughues administers properties on behalf of TTG clients in Minas Gerais, Brazil, with particular responsibility for inventory design, analysis, and auditing. Before joining TTG, Yughues worked for Serra do Cabral Agro-Indústria S.A., and Silviconsult (now Poyry-Silviconsult), and interned with Ripasa Pulp and Cellulose. Yughues received his B.S. in Forestry from the Federal University of Parana and his B.S. in Business Management from FAE Business School. He is currently completing his M.B.A. at the Getúlio Vargas Foundation University.
